The craze for organic goods is reaching an all time high and the demand has sky rocketed in the past few years. People are willing to pay higher for benefits from natural organic clothing that range from prevention from being harmed by chemicals and protecting the environment.
But this craze has also led to people being fooled by some clever people who dub any clothing as organic. What you buy may not really be organic even if it is labeled so.
Different ways in which organic clothing are sold are:
a) A normal conventional cotton clothing may be sold as organic. To prevent this, check the labeling carefully and also only buy from the bigger brands that can be trusted. Some smaller brands sell this normal clothes at 30 to 40% increased prices by branding them as organic even though it may not be one.
b) A real organic clothing is sold. But just because a cloth is made from organic stuff does not mean that they cannot be harmful, These organically made clothing may be dyed by synthetic chemicals which have harmful materials in them. Therefore you also need to check the dye and other materials used to make the clothing.
c) You get the real organic cotton dyed with stuff that is allowed by companies that certify organic clothing and with proper guidelines followed. Even though this may be costly but this is the real deal. Paying a little extra will save you from the harmful synthetic materials and you will also be contributing to a safe world and a cleaner environment.
This may seem to be a big deal for some. But right now, to make things simpler, it is better to stay away from clothes labelled “Made in China” and “Made in India”. The US and Turkey offer much better quality and trusted business in organic clothes at the moment.
